Erasmian

This is the pronunciation of classical Attic created by Erasmus. Erasmus did not have the IPA, so his descriptions were somewhat imprecise. This is a best effort transcription into the IPA. This pronunciation differs only slightly from the Classical Attic reconstruction. Erasmus reconstructs pitch accent and vowel length. Erasmus reconstructs the aspirates as fricatives. The name Erasmian is often used incorrectly to represent a pronunciation system that roughly follows the speakers native phonology. For an example of such a system, see the US Conventional system.
