Erasmian

This is the pronunciation of classical Attic created by Erasmus. This pronunciation is essentially the same as the modern Classical Attic reconstruction, with the only major error being the pronunciation of ει. The value given by Erasmus is significantly more conservative than even the Classical Attic value, likely predating 700 B.C.. The name Erasmian is often used incorrectly to represent a pronunciation system that roughly follows the speakers native phonology. For an example of such a system, see the US Conventional system.
